Singapore Slingers: Imperial Leather Tour
Singapore Slingers bespoke tour, proudly sponsored by Imperial Leather (that’s for you Rhys, we’re getting some proper soap for you). Experience real Cambodian daily living, and ride the remote trails in the Kingdom’s southern provinces.
Year of the Pig, sees the Singapore Slingers bespoke tour sponsored by Imperial Leather.
Centred around finding the best available off-road riding, in and around the Southern Coast of Cambodia, and venturing into the wilds of the Cardamoms mountain range! The tour aims to keep off the tarmac as much as possible, and tackle some technical jungle single tracks up and over the Cardamoms and Kirirom.
Not for the faint hearted, though there will always be options of easier routes every, decided by the group as a whole.
But if Tee says “No! No tough day today”, then his words are final!

Arrive Phnom Penh
On your arrival at Phnom Penh International, you will be met by a driver who will transfer you down to the coastal town of Kampot.
We’ll meet you for check in at your hotel, and have the obligatory welcome beer, and later take you out for dinner.
Kampot to Pich Nich
We’ll leave at 9am latest on the bikes, and head off on some tame red dirt roads, heading for the foothills of Kirirom Mountain, and overnight in bungalow accommodation at Pich Nich.
Warm up day.
Pich Nich to Kirirom
We’ll hit some technical trails this morning and wind our way up the pine forests until we emerge atop Kirirom Mountain.
Overnight in permanent tented rooms, safari style. Glamping Cambodia style.
Kirirom to Srae Ambel
Technical downhill, with a nice (?) river crossing near the bottom. Then open red dirt to overnight in a remote farmstead in the foothills of the Cardamoms Mountains.
You will be in hammocks or tents this evening, and there will be no sanitary toilet facilities. You’ll be one with nature, as nature intended.
Srae Ambel to Chi Phat
Todays rding will be the most technical of the trip.
Single jungle track, ascents, decents, rock, sand and mud, and the odd dodgy bridge.
Arrive in the Ecotourist village of Chi Phat for basic homestay accommodation.
Bathe in the local rapids, and enjoy a well deserved beer!
Chi Phat to Kampot
Feeling proud of what you have achieved, today will be a wind down ride, heading back to Kampot, for a hotel with pool (maybe).
If time permits, we’ll pop in and say hello to Tee’s wife and kids enroute.
Farewell dinner in town.
Depending on your return flight details, either transfer to Phnom Penh International early morning, or explore Kampot under your own steam, then transfer to airport in the afternoon.
We put you up in the best accommodation available at each night’s destination.
Accommodation will range from camping, to glamping, to mid-range hotels.
Remember, we wont be staying in any developed cities, so the best available may not be up to the usual western standards, but you will leave with an authentic experience of real Cambodian Daily living!
To be honest, the XR250 is the best option for the terrain we will be riding.
Technical trails will require less speed and more momentum, bigger bikes are often regarded as a bit too much on the twisty trails in the Cardamoms.
But hey, its up to you!
Knee high MX or Enduro style boots are the only accepted boots on our off-road tours. The most common injuries are lower leg and foot. If you wear the right boots, you’ll be less likely to appear in those statistics.
We won’t lie to you. Yes. There are. Lots. But we wil be sticking to well used trails and tracks, not cutting our own through terrain unkown.
If we do get lost, and we are in a high risk area, the tour leader will let you know, and advise you not to take shortcuts off the beaten trail.
Yes we do, for an extra $80 per trip. But, generally any accidents are dealt with on the spot with third parties immediately. That is the accepted way here in the Kingdom of Wonder, so third party policies generally aren’t worth the paper they are written on.
Besides, your travel, medical and evacuation insurance should provide you with personal liability cover. Thats what should be used for any major accidents.
To be fair though, we haven’t had any major incidents.
So don’t fret!
Off road jersey.
Off road pants.
MX / Adventure style helmet.
Off road Goggles (bring a spare lense)
Spectacles (if you need them to drive)
Camel Back or small day pack with hydration bladder
Off road gloves
Try not to wear black stuff, it gets very hot.
Elbow and knee armour separates are the basic minimum required.
If you do opt for full armour and back protection, steer clear of all in one mesh suits (as above for black stuff – it gets very hot). You are better off sticking to spearates. You can also shed items when you are confident you really don’t need them, and keep the bits on that you do (as above, elbows and knees).
